DJ Falcon

Active on the French house scene since the late 1990s, DJ Falcon, born Stéphane Quême, is part of the French touch movement that grew up around Paris. He was noticed with the 1999 EP “Hello My Name Is DJ Falcon” on Thomas Bangalter’s Roulé label, establishing a house approach built on sampling disco and pop, filtered loops and prolonged buildups designed for the club. DJ Falcon went on to form Together with Thomas Bangalter; their singles “Together” (2000) and “So Much Love To Give” (2002) became landmarks of a French house aesthetic that is both repetitive and melodic. Less prolific in terms of releases but an ongoing presence on club and festival stages across Europe and beyond, he has focused on DJ sets mixing filtered house, disco classics and more electro-leaning variations. In 2013 he reunited with the Daft Punk circle as a co-writer on the track “Contact” from the album Random Access Memories, confirming the continuity of his place in the history of French house.
