Pressure Busspipe

Born Delyno Brown in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Pressure Busspipe evolves in a reggae anchored in roots, lovers rock and conscious dancehall, with songwriting focused on social realities, spirituality and human relationships. Initiated very early to music by his father, a musician in a local band, he first stands out within the Star Lion Family collective, a reggae scene outfit from the Virgin Islands that allows him to move on regional stages and to open for several established Jamaican artists. Pressure Busspipe then broadens his audience with the track “Love and Affection”, picked up on the Reggae Gold 2007 compilation, before the release of the album Love and Affection in 2007 on Don Corleon Records. His trajectory then builds between Caribbean productions and collaborations tied to the contemporary roots scene, notably with Zion I Kings for the The Sound album in 2018. Pressure Busspipe’s career also includes appearances alongside New Kingston on the Easy Star label, in a register where smooth vocal lines, classic reggae rhythms and a very direct melodic approach remain at the center. Between engaged compositions and more sentimental tracks, Pressure Busspipe maintains a clear link with the island reggae tradition while placing it in a broader circulation between the Caribbean, the United States and Europe.
