Salomé de Bahia
Brazilian singer based in France, Salomé de Bahia stands at the crossroads of samba, bossa nova and vocal house. Coming from the Brazilian popular repertoire, she first gained attention on Parisian club stages before collaborating closely with French producer Bob Sinclar on the Yellow Productions label. That partnership gradually established her name in the landscape of Latin-influenced electronic music through a series of maxi singles and dancefloor-oriented tracks, with Portuguese remaining central to her work. Salomé de Bahia recorded Brazilian-style reinterpretations of songs by Stevie Wonder and Jorge Ben, such as “Outro Lugar” and “Taj Mahal”, illustrating her taste for bridges between Brazilian song, disco and DJ culture. Her output alternates between club cuts, pieces closer to Brazilian popular music and collaborations with various producers, maintaining a constant link between the Brazilian diaspora, European electronic scenes and the heritage of samba.
