Random Hand

Emerging in the early 2000s from the UK DIY scene, Random Hand formed in 2002 in Keighley, West Yorkshire, around a blend of ska-punk, punk rock, hardcore and metal influences, with Robin Leitch's trombone a central element of their sound alongside Joe Tilston, Sean Howe and Dan Walsh. Initially active in northern England's small venues and independent circuits, Random Hand released a first demo in 2003 and the EP On the March in 2005, before their debut album Change of Plan in 2007. The band followed up with Inhale/Exhale in 2009 and Seething Is Believing in 2011, while touring the UK and internationally and playing punk, ska and alternative bills with acts such as Sonic Boom Six, Reel Big Fish, Propagandhi and Voodoo Glow Skulls. After guitarist Matthew Crosher left in 2012 and was replaced by Dan Walsh, Random Hand issued Live In K-Town in 2013 and Hit Reset in 2015, shortly before announcing an indefinite hiatus. Returning to the stage from 2018, Random Hand later released Hit Remix in 2021 and the self-titled album Random Hand in 2023, marking twenty years of activity.
