Ami Warning

Born in Munich in 1996, Ami Warning develops a singer-songwriter style at the crossroads of pop, soul and reggae, in a flexible palette where acoustic melodies sit alongside warmer rhythms inherited from her family history. Daughter of musician Wally Warning, originally from Aruba, she teaches herself guitar and begins first as a bassist in her father’s band, with whom she also performs on stage as part of the Amiwa – Two Generations project. Ami Warning writes her first songs in adolescence, initially in English, before gradually expanding her repertoire to German. After a first album, Part of Me, released in 2014, and Seasons in 2016, also developed with Wally Warning, she refines a more personal format where the sweetness of the voice, pop textures and a soulful sensibility remain at the center. Widely noticed in Germany from the late 2010s, notably after her appearance in Bayerischer Rundfunk’s Startrampe format, Ami Warning released Momentan in 2019, Kurz vorm Ende der Welt in 2022 and Auszeit in 2024. On stage as in the studio, Ami Warning crafts intimate and direct music, attentive to words, which moves between pop song, light soul and touches of reggae without settling into a single framework.
