Shannon
Riding the new wave of Antillean urban music, Shannon has been crafting from Martinique a world that bridges Caribbean heritage with contemporary sounds. The singer and rapper blends shatta, dancehall, reggaeton, dembow, bouyon, and Francophone rap, switching between Creole and French to create tracks designed for both the streets and the clubs. After gaining notice online with a series of singles, Shannon drew particular attention with the track "Mal À dit," whose reach extended beyond the local scene and caught the eye of audiences outside the Caribbean. In 2021, the track was notably featured in a Mugler runway show, placing Shannon’s music within a broader dialogue between urban cultures, fashion, and contemporary creativity. That same year, the release of her debut mixtape "Periodt" affirmed a direction centered on uptempo Caribbean rhythms, heavy basslines, and a direct, no-frills flow, while cementing Shannon’s place within the young generation of Martinican artists active across local stages and digital networks.
