Bamby
Rooted in the francophone Caribbean scene, Bamby has been developing a dancehall style strongly influenced by pop and urban music since the mid-2010s. Originally from French Guiana, she first made an impression with a series of notable singles in dancehall selections, notably “Who Mad Again” and “Run di Place” from 2016, often in collaboration with singer Jahyanai, which quickly anchored her within the network of Antillean and Caribbean artists active between mainland France and the overseas territories. A self-taught vocalist, Bamby works as a songwriter and composer on her tracks and contributes to the creation of her instrumentals, favoring rhythm-driven productions where the melodic line is central. Her style sits at the intersection of dancehall, afro-dancehall and urban pop, alternating between sung parts, spoken sections close to Jamaican toast, and melodic choruses. Bamby’s songs navigate three languages—French, Creole and Jamaican patois—giving her a musical identity aimed at clubs, sound systems and festival stages where she continues to develop.
