Wake The Dead

Since 2010, Wake The Dead has been developing in Marseille a personal take on modern hardcore, shaped by the European punk, metal and hardcore scenes. The band has made its mark above all through intensive touring, true to its motto «Driving hours, playing half an hour», with several hundred shows across roughly thirty countries. That steady presence on the road — from small clubs to venues dedicated to hardcore — has produced a direct sound that alternates between fast tempos, more melodic passages and tense atmospheres, while staying connected to punk’s heritage. Through lineup changes Wake The Dead has refined its songwriting, blending catchy choruses, tight riffs and compact rhythms, aiming for a balance between frontal energy and more atmospheric nuances. The lyrics address both intimate matters and social themes, paying attention to daily life, doubts and contemporary power dynamics. Embedded in the independent scene network, the band frequently tours alongside various metal, punk and hardcore acts, building an identity tied as much to the live scene as to studio work.
