Lafayette

Formed in Lyon in 2024, Lafayette operates in a modern metal spectrum that blends metalcore, screamo, nu metal and post-hardcore references from the 1990s and 2000s. The band presents itself as a quartet and quickly releases its first tracks, with 'A Soul With A Gun' published in March 2024, before following up with several releases that lay the foundations of its identity. In March 2025, Lafayette releases the EP Deliver Us, the first short-format that extends this direction with a tense, dense and frontal sound. Lafayette's music rests on a balance between massive riffs, nervy rhythms, emphatic breaks and alternating screamed vocals and clean singing, in a writing that seeks both impact and melodic tension. Anchored in the Lyon scene while fitting into an international aesthetic of contemporary metal, Lafayette develops a compact, direct proposition marked by a strong live intensity. The name Lafayette thus circulates in diffusion networks dedicated to contemporary music and heavy scenes, with a project still recent but already structured around a clear sonic identity.
