Evan Wright

Born in California, raised in New Jersey and now based in New York, Evan Wright develops a songwriter’s voice shaped by indie rock, psychedelic folk and a hazy-edged country. His work follows a largely autonomous approach: Evan Wright records, performs, produces and mixes his own music, where melodies remain central, supported by muted arrangements, slightly veiled guitars and an atmosphere that is simultaneously nostalgic and tense. This aesthetic, between domestic psychedelia and a skewed American song tradition, takes shape as a repertoire conceived as a coherent whole rather than a series of isolated tracks. Working solo, Evan Wright operates in an intimate register that draws as much from folk as from a certain New York indie lineage, with a marked taste for discreet textures and suspended moods. Between Californian roots, East Coast training and a New York anchoring, Evan Wright composes personal, handcrafted and tightly focused music, conceived as an autonomous space.
