Chico Chico

Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1993 as Francisco Ribeiro Eller, Chico Chico has, since the late 2000s, built a career spanning Brazilian rock, MPB, blues and folk, with songwriting focused on the song and often acoustic arrangements. The son of Cássia Eller and bassist Tavinho Fialho, Chico Chico began in several bands on the carioca scene before singing with 2x0 Vargem Alta, which released a self-titled debut album in 2015. His work then took a more personal turn, both solo and in duo with João Mantuano, with whom he recorded Chico Chico & João Mantuano in 2021, after also releasing Onde? with Francisco Gil in 2020. Chico Chico has refined a repertoire where samba, rock, Brazilian popular song and folk ballads intersect, in a format that emphasizes voice, violão (Brazilian acoustic guitar) and a direct interpretation. His first solo album, Pomares, appeared in 2021, followed by Estopim in 2024 and Let it Burn/Deixa Arder in 2025. Over the years he has also collaborated or shared the stage with Ana Cañas, Maria Bethânia, Nando Reis and Mário Lúcio, while remaining close to Brazil’s independent circuit and the Sesc venues across Rio, São Paulo and other cities.
