DJ Dextro

Emerging from the Portuguese electronic scene, DJ Dextro has built a club‑centred career since the early 1990s, after beginning to DJ in 1991 and honing his experience through long residencies. His work as a producer is primarily rooted in techno, with a direct, rhythmic and taut approach that blends mechanical groove, dark textures and dancefloor efficiency. DJ Dextro also led the Redkone project, launched in 2002, alongside releases issued under his own name. Over the years he has released tracks and remixes on numerous international labels, including CLR, Mutual Rytm, Second State, Suara, Illegal Alien, Tronic, Hotflush, Terminal M, Toolroom, Nervous and Planet Rhythm, reflecting a spectrum from functional, percussive techno to more hybrid formats linked to house and club electro. His name is also known through remixes for artists such as The Advent, Gez Varley, Damon Wild, Christian Smith and Scuba. Present on international stages for more than twenty years, DJ Dextro continues a career marked by continuity between DJ culture, studio production and circulation across different circuits of electronic music.
