Jake Vaadeland

From Cut Knife, Saskatchewan, Jake Vaadeland develops songwriting rooted in traditional country, bluegrass and folk, with acoustic guitar playing and vocals that recall older forms of North American roots while remaining within a contemporary framework. Jake Vaadeland first appeared in 2021 with two independently released EPs, Retro Man and No More Pain in My Heart, before releasing the album Everybody But Me in 2022. He performs with his backing band, the Sturgeon River Boys, in a lineup that highlights the repertoire’s collective energy and a direct approach to the stage. In 2023 Jake Vaadeland and the Sturgeon River Boys opened for the Hunter Brothers on their Canadian tour, broadening their presence on the country and roots circuit across the country. In 2024 Jake Vaadeland signed a publishing deal with Arts & Crafts Productions and a distribution agreement with Jayward Artist Group, then released Retro Man...More and More, presented as an extension of his first EP. His discography continued with One More Dollar to Go, released in 2025, where old‑time country, bluegrass and narrative folk converge.
