Crucified Barbara

Born in Stockholm in 1998, Crucified Barbara assembled its best‑known lineup — Mia Coldheart, Klara Force, Ida Evileye and Nicki Wicked — around a muscular hard rock that blends heavy metal, post‑grunge and alternative metal. The group originally worked from a more punk‑rock base, then honed its identity in the early 2000s with Mia Coldheart on guitar; she took over vocal duties after Joey Nine left in 2003. Signed to GMR, Crucified Barbara released In Distortion We Trust (2005), ’Til Death Do Us Party (2009), The Midnight Chase (2012) and In the Red (2014). Their songwriting relies on direct riffs, catchy choruses and a live energy rooted as much in Scandinavian rock as in melodic metal. Over the years they toured extensively across Europe, as well as Australia, Brazil and North America, sharing bills with the likes of Motörhead, In Flames and Sepultura. In 2010 they participated in Melodifestivalen with “Heaven or Hell,” an appearance that temporarily broadened their exposure beyond the rock and metal circuits. The band ceased activity in 2016.
