Iris Gold

Born in London to Jamaican and British parents and later based in Copenhagen, Iris Gold develops her project between British culture, Caribbean heritage and the Scandinavian indie scene. Describing her style as "hippie hop," Iris Gold blends rap, soulful singing, melodic pop and pronounced references to 1960s and 70s music, with psychedelic guitars and prominent backing choruses. First noticed in the mid‑2010s with a series of singles that circulated on European pop and hip‑hop stages, she quickly became part of a circuit of venues and festivals where her hybrid universe found an audience. Her debut album Planet Cool, released in 2019, consolidated this identity by alternating rapped tracks, songs closer to modern soul and direct pop hooks, always centered on autobiographical songwriting and a taste for retro imagery. Between London and Copenhagen, Iris Gold continues to compose songs that are both narrative and driven by hip‑hop rhythms, gradually carving out a distinctive place in the new European pop scene.
