Iris Gold brings her self-described hippie hop to the stage: rap cadences, soulful hooks and melodic pop, shot through with 60s/70s colours—psych guitars and layered harmonies over hip-hop-driven rhythms. Born in London to Jamaican and British parents and now based in Copenhagen, she folds British pop sensibility, Caribbean heritage and Scandinavian indie textures into songs that read like short scenes. Planet Cool, her 2019 debut, outlined the palette; since then she has tightened the blend with candid, autobiographical writing, call-and-response refrains and retro-tinged riffs. Live, vocals shift from melodic lines to quick-fire bars, with arrangements that lean on groove and chorus.
