Locomuerte

Between thrash metal, hardcore punk and Chicano heritage, Locomuerte has been building, since the early 2010s, a world that sits between the margins of metal and street culture. Formed in Île-de-France, the band follows in the footsteps of New York and California crossover by adding fast tempos to a thrash base, an energy close to hardcore and a strong taste for shouted choruses. Locomuerte’s vocals are primarily in Spanish, delivered with very rhythmic phrasing and expressions drawn from Chicana culture, which shapes the band’s identity and feeds the concept of “chicano mosh” often associated with their music. The compositions favor direct riffs, tight structures and a pronounced groove, conceived for the stage and for continuous interaction with the audience. Active on metal, punk and hardcore circuits in France and abroad, Locomuerte has made a name for itself through club shows, festivals and alternative venues as a representative of an Île-de-France crossover that blends Chicana iconography, aggressive sonics and a collective approach to live performance.
