The Odds

Formed in Paris in 2021, The Odds brings together Tarka Decamps, César Calles, Julien Samuel and Alexis Vialatel — four childhood friends whose paths developed in an environment already connected to music. The Odds plays French-language pop-rock that mixes taut guitars, crisp choruses and band energy with an aesthetic drawn from 2000s rock and affinities ranging from Téléphone and BB Brunes to The Strokes. As a quartet they favour a direct approach where the two guitars and the vocals answer each other, sitting between pop melody, rock tension and lyrics focused on youth, relationships and everyday contradictions. The band was first heard on Parisian stages before moving on to dates in other French cities. Their first EP, Danse Animale, was released in 2024 and defines the contours of their sound: a frontal yet accessible rock, propelled by concise lyrics, brisk tempos and contemporary production. Since their beginnings, The Odds has steered this base toward a tighter, more electric register while maintaining a simple, immediate approach to songwriting.
