Bad Suns
Formed in the early 2010s in the Los Angeles area, Bad Suns develop a melodic alternative rock influenced by the post‑punk and new wave legacy of the 1980s. The band, led by singer‑guitarist Christo Bowman with Gavin Bennett on bass and keys and Miles Morris on drums, drew attention with the Transpose EP in 2014, which set the stage for the debut album Language & Perspective later that year. Bad Suns established a direct songwriting approach focused on vocal lines, bright guitars and taut rhythms, often likened to bands such as The Cure or Elvis Costello for their use of melody and texture. The second album Disappear Here arrived in 2016 and deepened this blend of indie rock and accessible pop, followed by Mystic Truth in 2019, where the band introduced more atmospheric nuances, and Apocalypse Whenever in 2022, which continued the evolution with more synthetic arrangements. Active on North American and European indie rock circuits, Bad Suns alternate club runs and festival dates, building a steady trajectory around an identifiable sound and a concise discography.
