Colony House

In Franklin, Tennessee, Colony House was born from the collaboration of brothers Caleb and Will Chapman, sons of singer‑songwriter Steven Curtis Chapman, later joined by Parke Cottrell. Rooted in an American indie rock scene, the band originally formed under the name Caleb in the late 2000s before adopting the name Colony House in 2013 and releasing their debut album When I Was Younger in 2014. That record features melodic alternative rock with guitar‑forward arrangements and introspective songwriting. With Only the Lonely (2017), Colony House shifted their sound toward a blend of indie rock, pop influences and echoes of classic rock, placing greater emphasis on vocal harmonies and group dynamics both on stage and in the studio. Leave What’s Lost Behind (2020) continues this approach by introducing more cinematic and rhythmic tones, while The Cannonballers (2023) tightens the arrangements around a direct indie rock, combining surf energy, retro touches and structured choruses. Very active on the road, Colony House has built its trajectory through regular live activity across the United States, moving between clubs, mid‑sized venues and festivals, which has helped hone a repertoire situated between mainstream alternative rock and a more intimate independent songwriting.
