Cloud Nothings

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, out of songs Dylan Baldi recorded alone in 2009, Cloud Nothings quickly evolved from a solo project into a live band before settling as a trio with Baldi, drummer Jayson Gerycz and Chris Brown. Cloud Nothings operates at the intersection of indie rock, noise rock, post‑hardcore and power pop, with a direct sound where sharply defined melodies sit alongside abrasive guitars, taut rhythms and lyrics often marked by doubt, fatigue and observations of everyday life. After the Turning On EP in 2009, the band released the self‑titled album Cloud Nothings in 2011, then Attack on Memory in 2012, recorded with Steve Albini, which noticeably hardened the group’s approach. Subsequent records keep the songwriting concise while shifting the balance between punk urgency and melodic clarity on Here and Nowhere Else (2014), Life Without Sound (2017), Last Building Burning (2018) and The Shadow I Remember (2021). Cloud Nothings also released No Life for Me with Wavves in 2015, before issuing Final Summer in 2024. From the start, the band has been active on U.S. and European tours, in independent clubs and at rock festivals.
