Vincent Neil Emerson

Born in Van Zandt County, in East Texas, then settled in Fort Worth after a stop in San Antonio, Vincent Neil Emerson develops a writing rooted in Texan country, folk and honky-tonk, with touches of country rock and western swing. His journey takes shape on stage, initially in local circuits and then as opening act for artists such as Turnpike Troubadours, American Aquarium, Colter Wall or Charley Crockett, in a stripped-down songwriter vein where storytelling remains central. Vincent Neil Emerson releases Fried Chicken and Evil Women in 2019, followed by a self-titled album in 2021, produced by Rodney Crowell, which tightens his approach around sober and autobiographical songs. In 2023, The Golden Crystal Kingdom, produced by Shooter Jennings, broadens the frame with a more electric sound without leaving his country roots. Part of his work also addresses his Choctaw-Apache heritage, notably in tracks tied to the history of displacement of his community. Several songs by Vincent Neil Emerson have also been used in the series Reservation Dogs and Yellowstone. His repertoire moves between acoustic ballads, barroom country rhythms and road songs, with a direct way of linking Texan tradition and personal narrative.
