Après La Classe
From Aradeo, in the province of Lecce, Après La Classe formed in 1996 and consolidated its identity in the late 1990s around a repertoire that mixes ska punk, patchanka, reggae, dub and rock, with a pronounced Salento flavour. The group, now organized as a sextet, first grew on the stages of Salento and Lecce before touring across Italy and abroad, including several appearances at the Primo Maggio concert in Rome. Après La Classe released a self-titled debut album in 2002, followed by Un numero in 2004 and Luna Park in 2006, a period when their writing alternated ska energy, popular choruses and the use of several languages, including Italian and French. Over the years Après La Classe has steered its sound toward more dub-rock and electro textures, a development evident on Mammalitaliani (2010), recorded with the participation of Caparezza, and later on Riuscire a volare (2014), Circo Manicomio (2017) and Santa Marilena (2022). Collaborations in the band's career have included Sud Sound System, Giuliano Sangiorgi, Alborosie and Manu Chao, who guested on the track Otro mundo in 2022.
