Eihwar

Launched in France in 2023 by Asrunn and Mark, Eihwar develops a duo project at the crossroads of neofolk, the so-called pagan musics and tribal electronic music designed for the stage. The group describes its universe as 'Viking War Trance', a label that fairly well sums up a sound based on chanted vocals, ritual percussion, dark textures and a dancing pulse, far from a strict historical reconstruction and more oriented toward an assumed Nordic fantasy. Eihwar first drew attention through a series of online releases, before widening its audience in the metal, dark folk and alternative scenes. Their journey has already taken them to festivals such as Hellfest in France, Wacken Open Air in Germany, Resurrection Fest in Spain or Midgardsblot in Norway, in a context where their proposition moves between concert, performance and contemporary pagan imagery. The duo is also associated with the Season of Mist label. In their tracks, Eihwar blends martial energy, collective refrains, electronic tension and references to the Nordic world, with Hugrheim as the thread, a fictional universe inspired by Old Norse and designed as the narrative extension of their music.
