Hindarfjäll

Formed in Sweden in 2015, Hindarfjäll evolves at the crossroads of Nordic neofolk and folk metal, with a writing oriented toward the old Nordic religion, folklore, and a form of mysticism linked to nature. The group was first built around Nils A. Edström, before taking the form of a multi-voiced collective, where polyphonic singing occupies a central place alongside percussion, flute, guitar, and nyckelharpa. Hindarfjäll develops acoustic and ritual music in its intention, but carried by a contemporary production that maintains a link with metal aesthetics without systematically adopting its power or the hardest codes. After the single Alvatid in 2019, Hindarfjäll released Från Tidernas Begynnelse in 2020, then Lärads Grenar in 2022 and Seden in 2024, all released via Grimfrost Records. On stage, Hindarfjäll participates in the circuit of festivals devoted to Nordic cultures and folk music, including a performance at Midgardsblot in 2024. The name Hindarfjäll, borrowed from Nordic mythology, extends a musical universe that articulates Scandinavian heritage, choral arrangements, and sober atmospheres.
