Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, Cara Rose has been developing a project since the early 2020s that centers on voice and songwriting, at the intersection of soul, contemporary R&B and pop with jazz-tinged influences. Her tracks favor slow to mid tempos, carefully crafted vocal harmonies and introspective lyrics, with attention to the nuances between straightforward melodies and more subdued atmospheres. Her career has been built primarily through digital releases—singles and EPs—that gradually establish a coherent, identifiable repertoire. Active on the Scottish and wider UK scene, she performs in varied settings, from intimate formats to shared bills, which fosters occasional collaborations and an ongoing dialogue with musicians from soul, hip-hop and electronic music.
