Pearl & The Oysters
Formed by Juliette Pearl Davis and Joachim Polack, Pearl & The Oysters took shape between Paris — where the two musicians met in high school — and Gainesville, Florida, before relocating to Los Angeles in 2020. The Franco‑American duo develops a chamber‑pop sound with indie, synth‑pop and dream‑pop hues, nourished by soft rock, light jazz and an imagination rooted in 1960s and 1970s production values, featuring hushed arrangements, airy keyboards and carefully constructed melodic writing. Pearl & The Oysters released a self‑titled debut in 2017, followed by Canned Music (2018), Flowerland (2021), Coast 2 Coast (2023) and Planet Pearl (2024) — a discography that charts the group’s evolution from an independent Florida scene toward a wider American frame. Their path has also crossed musicians such as Lætitia Sadier and Riley Geare, while Pearl & The Oysters have refined, across their releases, an aesthetic that sits between retro‑futurist pop, gentle harmonies and subtle electronic textures, without abandoning a clear taste for short songs, floating atmospheres and transatlantic references.
