Laura Lee & the Jettes

Berlin-based rock project Laura Lee & the Jettes brings together around bassist and singer Laura Lee a guitar-oriented lineup that extends the garage aesthetic previously developed in the duo Gurr. The band sits in a register between garage rock, indie rock and power pop, with songs driven by concise structures, melodic choruses and English vocals that alternate clear lines and rougher passages. Since the early 2020s, Laura Lee & the Jettes have refined this mix of saturated guitars, straightforward rhythms and simple arrangements, playing on the contrast between raw energy and a sense for pop motifs. The lyrics address everyday themes head-on, such as relationships, social fatigue or the excesses of an urban environment, without aiming for a conceptual narrative. Released in 2022, the album Wasteland marks a first structured step in Laura Lee & the Jettes' discography and gathers tracks already road‑tested on stage, offering a glimpse of the sound the band develops in clubs and independent venues across Germany. This configuration allows Laura Lee & the Jettes to move between garage heritage, post‑punk tension and accessible pop songwriting, in a framework decidedly oriented towards live performance.
