Rett Madison

Based in Los Angeles after growing up in West Virginia, Rett Madison develops a singer-songwriter voice rooted in indie folk, Americana, and a restrained pop-rock, driven by a deep voice and a performance that allows ample room for organic arrangements. A multi-instrumentalist, Rett Madison first drew notice with a string of singles before the release of her debut album, Pin-Up Daddy, in 2021, produced by Theo Katzman. This record lays the groundwork for a universe where stripped-down ballads, country-rock textures, and more direct melodies intersect, with a constant focus on storytelling and emotional nuance. In her career, Rett Madison has also provided backing vocals for other artists, notably Lorde and Kate Nash, while performing on stage as the opening act for musicians from neighboring horizons, from pop to Americana. The single “Jacqueline,” released after Pin-Up Daddy, extends this trajectory by opening toward writing that remains centered on the intimate, but with a more expansive production. Between American folk heritage and contemporary indie sensibility, Rett Madison builds a personal repertoire, nourished by the California scene as much as by her Appalachian roots.
