Mimi Barks
Born in Bochum, Germany, Mimi Barks develops a universe at the crossroads of rap, trap metal, industrial, punk and abrasive electronics, a sound she calls doom‑trap. After growing up in the Ruhr, Mimi Barks moved to Berlin, where she began recording her first tracks and prepared the EP Enter the Void, released in 2019. She then went to London to work with producers associated with the British trap metal scene, refining a formula built on heavy beats, dark textures, an English rap flow and screamed passages borrowed from extreme music. Signed to Century Media in 2020, Mimi Barks circulates her music between alternative hip‑hop, metal and electronic scenes, with several short releases in 2022 including Nihil, Abyss and Undead it. Her debut album, Deadgirl, came out the same year, followed by This Is Doom Trap in 2024. Between gothic imagery, industrial tension and blunt writing, Mimi Barks constructs a project positioned between club music, dark rap and hardcore energy, outside the usual forms of German hip‑hop.
