Ledbyher

Carried by a trajectory between Germany, Indonesia and the English countryside, Ledbyher shapes an intimate rap she describes as "bedroom drill", blending everyday narratives with lo-fi production. Born in 2003 in Germany into a family marked by her father’s postings in the Royal Air Force, Rachel Aisyah Diack first grew up in Medan, Indonesia, before moving with her mother into social housing in rural Norfolk. Her mixed Indonesian and Scottish heritage also threads through the story she develops under the name Ledbyher. At 14 she began producing R&B instrumentals for her sister Anjeli; that early studio work later structured her approach as a rapper, songwriter and producer. At 19 she moved to London to dedicate herself to music while studying film at the University of London, joining the UK underground rap scene with a delivery that sits halfway between singing and spoken word and with ethereal, often minimal instrumentals. The EP CUNCH, released in 2023 on the BE83 Music label, marked a first discographic step before she signed to Island Records and released the mixtape The Elephant in 2026. Her work — her stage name alludes to William Wordsworth’s autobiographical poem The Prelude — was recognised in 2025 with a nomination at the NOTION New Music Awards for Best New Rap/Hip-Hop and with a Best Low Budget award at the London Music Video Awards for the video for "Leeches."
