Heretoir
Founded in Augsburg in 2006 around David «Eklatanz» C., Heretoir initially developed as a solo project before becoming a full band with the arrival of Matthias «Nathanael» S. and other musicians in the early 2010s. Heretoir operates in a vein often described as blackgaze or metalgaze, where shoegaze, post‑rock, ambient and modern metal intersect, featuring acoustic passages, layered guitars and vocals that alternate between clean singing and raspy screams. After the demo Existenz in 2008, later issued as the EP .Existenz. in 2009, Heretoir released a self‑titled debut album in 2011 and Substanz in 2012, which revisited and reworked their early recordings. The band refined its songwriting on The Circle (2017) before Nightsphere (2023), an album marked by a more collective composition approach. Heretoir also released the EP Wastelands in 2024. On stage, they made a name for themselves on the European metal and post‑metal circuit, appearing at Summer Breeze and Rockharz and touring with Agrypnie, Der Weg einer Freiheit, Ghost Bath and Imperium Dekadenz.
