Alain Clark

Born in Haarlem, Netherlands in 1979, Alain Clark moves between pop, soul and R&B with a writing focused on melody, vocal harmonies and a sound that blends organic instrumentation and contemporary production. Son of Dutch soul singer Dane Clark, he initially begins as a songwriter and producer for other artists and for television before launching his solo career with the album Alain Clark in 2004. His path takes on another dimension with Live It Out in 2007, notably propelled by 'This Ain't Gonna Work' and by 'Father and Friend', a duo with his father that firmly establishes Alain Clark in the Dutch music scene. The rest of his career shows a steady trajectory, between luminous soul-pop and more rhythm and blues inflections, with Colorblind in 2010, Generation Love Revival in 2012, Walk With Me in 2014, Bad Therapy in 2017 and Sunday Afternoon in 2020. Alain Clark has also developed live performance work and collaborations, notably with Metropole Orkest on the live album Live in 2011, while continuing an English-language repertoire to which Dutch-language titles are occasionally added.
