Nilusi

Born in Paris in 2000 to a family of Sri Lankan origin, Nilusi developed early on a career spanning singing, writing and visual work. She first came to public attention in 2014 on L’École des fans nouvelle génération and was later part of Kids United from 2015 to 2018. After that initial exposure, Nilusi pursued a solo project where R&B, soul, pop, jazz and references to South Asian music intersect, with a practice focused on voice, languages and questions of identity. Her personal discography opened with the singles Je veux and Au-delà in 2019, followed by the EPs Confinée and Humanoïde in 2020, before the album Lettre à l’Univers in 2024 — a self-produced record blending French, English and Sinhala. Alongside her own repertoire, Nilusi works as a songwriter for other artists and notably contributed to writing tracks associated with Yseult, Sevdaliza, Pabllo Vittar, Rema and Ayra Starr. This trajectory is part of a broader practice: Nilusi has also acted in the series Profilage and developed directorial work around the feature film project NARA, filmed in Sri Lanka.
