Tracy De Sá

Born in Goa in 1992, Tracy De Sá grew up between India, Portugal and Spain before settling in France, a transnational journey that runs through her music as well as her lyrics. Tracy De Sá develops multilingual rap in English, Spanish and French, nourished by 1990s hip-hop, but also by touches of reggaeton, R&B and Latin influences, with a fast flow and writing focused on questions of gender, identity and emancipation. Initially involved with dance and circles related to urban culture, she begins to rap more structurally in the early 2010s and releases the mixtape Alpha Female in 2014. Her journey in France becomes clearer thereafter with a selection for the iNOUïS at the Printemps de Bourges in 2018, then with the release of her first album Commotion in 2019. Tracy De Sá continues this evolution with In Power in 2021, the EP Stay In Power in 2022, then III in 2024. Alongside her releases, Tracy De Sá appears on stages mixing rap, urban music and engaged programming, and also develops mentoring work, notably around the place of women in current music.
