Rikas

Based in Stuttgart, Germany, the quartet Rikas has spent roughly a decade crafting an indie-pop sound with soul, funk and surf inflections, driven by collective vocal harmonies and melodic choruses. Formed by four childhood friends—the name comes from one member’s dog—Rikas operates on an egalitarian model where everyone writes, sings and shares the stage, shaping a highly vocal, rhythmic aesthetic centered on group interplay. After years of touring clubs and small venues across Germany, the band defined their sound with the EP “Swabian Samba” (2018) and the album “Showtime” (2019), which established a warm palette between buoyant pop and retro nods. Rikas followed with the EPs “Short Stories” (2021) and “Goodbye Sunshine” (2022), marking a more narrative and introspective songwriting approach. In 2025, their second album “Soundtrack For A Movie That Has Not Been Written Yet” accompanied a new European Dog Days tour that brought Rikas back to intimate venues in London, Amsterdam, Paris and several German cities, featuring a setlist mixing older songs, new material and rarely performed tracks.
