On July 3, 2027, the Retro Waves – 80s & 90s Festival at the Seebühne Bremen will bring back a sound that has matured between funk, pop, and clever songwriting. Featuring Level 42. The band led by bassist and vocalist Mark King has, since the early eighties, stood for buoyant grooves, slap-bass, and that blend of danceable lightness and musical precision that sticks in the ear quickly. Those who experience Level 42 live will not get a nostalgia act to sit back and relax, but a band that drives its classics forward with exuberance and tightness—somewhere between jazz-funk, New Wave, and radio-friendly pop. The festival clearly leans into the vibe of the 80s and 90s; additional artists have been announced.
