Info

On 27 September 2026, Marillion bring their progressive rock to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic in Liverpool. Formed in the late 1970s in Aylesbury, the band first stood out in the early 1980s with singer Fish and albums like Script for a Jester’s Tear (1983), Fugazi (1984) and Misplaced Childhood (1985), built around long, melodic, narrative pieces. The arrival of Steve Hogarth at the end of the decade opened a more introspective chapter, affirmed on Seasons End (1989) and Brave (1994), where progressive structures met atmospheric pop and contemporary textures. The steady core of Steve Rothery, Mark Kelly, Pete Trewavas, Ian Mosley and Hogarth has kept a tight group dynamic on stage and in the studio. From the late 1990s, Marillion explored fan-funded recordings and tours, building a committed international community. Albums like Marbles (2004), F E A R (2016) and An Hour Before It’s Dark (2022) extend their taste for long forms and thematic cycles, blending rock, pop, ambient and electronic hues.

Haunt the Woods joins the bill for this Liverpool date.
