Byrne’s Night lands at Troxy in London on 23 January 2027 with a set-up built for people who love songs more than genres. The idea is simple: a Burns Night celebration that collides, head-on, with the world of David Byrne and Talking Heads, plus all the weird, catchy side streets around them.
Expect a full night of covers that lean into the nervous grooves, clipped guitars and sudden left turns that made Byrne’s writing so addictive, alongside nods to Scotland’s national bard Robert Burns. On stage, the line-up is powered by a rotating house band drawn from the current UK alternative circuit, with familiar faces from English Teacher’s shape-shifting post-punk, Goat Girl’s jagged art-rock drift, Happyness’ laid-back indie touch, and Man/Woman/Chainsaw’s high-tension noise-pop contrasts. It’s a collective gig by design: lots of players, lots of voices, and a setlist that keeps moving.
