Getdown Services

Getdown Services lands at the Roundhouse, London, on 8 December 2026. Born from the UK’s current independent wave, the project folds post-punk, indie rock and a dance-minded pulse into lean, repeat-driven songs. Bass loops and dry drum machines set the frame, with wiry guitars or synth stabs nudging the groove forward. Vocals lean spoken-sung, almost spoken word at times, sketching everyday scenes, social codes and the small tics of city life with a dry, sidelong humour. A recent run of tracks has doubled down on repetition, friction and groove, built to work as well in headphones as in a crowded room.

On stage, Getdown Services plays with tension and release: simple structures, sudden cuts and riffs that circle back until they tilt into motion. The sound sits between club and gig, close enough to feel the low end, sharp enough to keep the edges. Active since the early 2020s across clubs and small venues, sharing bills with today’s post-punk and alternative dance cohorts, the group brings that after-hours energy to a larger space without sanding it down. Roundhouse becomes a testing ground for their hybrid set, where minimal parts lock tight and the groove does the heavy lifting.
