RPO presents: Lio

First brought to public attention by her single "Banana Split," Lio is an icon of Francophone pop. The release of "Banana Split" in 1979 paved the way for a string of hits such as "Amoureux solitaires," "Amicalement vôtre" and "Week-end à Rome," a duet with Étienne Daho. With 11 albums to her name, Lio returns with a 12th studio album: Geoid Party in the Sky. The record was born from a desire to return to her early passions and to pay tribute to the wonderful encounters life has given her — and, more specifically, to the memorable meetings of her career; it is above all these encounters that give the new project its richness. Lio enlisted several names from the new generation of pop: Louane, Hoshi, Corine, Isia Marie, Betta Lemme, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Marie Darrieussecq and Sofia Portanet have all agreed to write for the Belgian-Portuguese artist. Each song is built around an encounter and the idea of transmission, addressing themes that resonate with women across generations.
