Naaz

On 1 May 2026 Naaz will perform at Metropool in Enschede. The Dutch‑Kurdish singer‑songwriter has been developing her own sound since the mid‑2010s, positioned between indie pop, electronic production and alternative R&B. She first surfaced on the electronic scene through collaborations — including with Yellow Claw — before shifting her focus to her own material and a more direct voice. Her songs layer bright pop melodies over smooth beats and spare arrangements, often centered on the voice, with lyrics about family, leaving and returning home, self‑confidence and the tension between traditions and Western urban culture. She largely writes and produces herself, which gives her tracks a personal, sometimes rough edge without abandoning pop structure. The EPs Bits of Naaz (2018) and The Beautiful Struggle (2019) marked that course and established a repertoire that easily moves between intimate and expansive in a live setting. On stage Naaz opens up that universe: intimate yet rhythmic, contemplative yet impactful, with songs that come close while continuing to evolve. At Metropool that palette comes together, drawn directly from her own trajectory between pop, alternative scenes and electronica.
