Info
On February 11, 2027, Wende will perform at Metropool in Hengelo with a show that is as much a concert as a performance. She has for years moved seamlessly between chanson, pop and rock, with a theatrical tension you feel even when she keeps things intimate. Do not expect a straightforward setlist, but songs that flow into one another: from her early love of cabaret and French-language songs to her more personal work in which synths, electronics and a tight band sound make room for her voice.
Wende’s performances hinge on contrast: intimate and direct, then again physical and expansive, with attention to the lyrics and timing as if it were theater as well. Those who know her from albums such as No. 9, Last Resistance, Mens of Sterrenlopen will hear how she uses genres as building blocks, not as boundaries. In Hengelo, that comes together in an evening that plays with atmosphere, dynamism and narrative, without becoming a theatrical piece.
