Salebarbes

Salebarbes brings its Acadian pulse to Théâtre Manuvie in Brossard on February 19, 2027. Formed by singer-songwriters from New Brunswick and the Magdalen Islands, the collective digs into a francophone repertoire rooted in Acadia and Louisiana. Voices rotate, roles shift, and the group leans on danceable rhythms, layered choruses and the bite of Acadian vernacular, while keeping song forms clear and direct. The sound draws on folk and cajun, with country and rock shading the edges without taking over.

First revealed on stage, the group captured its approach with Live au Pas Perdus (2019), then refined it on Gin à l’eau salée (2021) and À boire deboutte (2023), mixing original songs with reimagined traditional pieces. Their music links party energy, shared memory and a living North American francophone culture. At Théâtre Manuvie, 6000 Boulevard de Rome, Salebarbes lines up material from across these releases and the repertoire that feeds them, carried by harmonies up front and grooves built to move.
