On December 10, 2026, at Vicar Street in Dublin, Madra Salach brings its new-wave take on Irish folk to the stage. Born out of the north Dublin pub circuit, the group first earned its stripes live, where trad-friendly instruments and tight band energy meet a more contemporary sense of songwriting. Their set moves between ballads and popular tunes, with that direct, story-first spirit you expect from Irish narrative songs, but played with the push and lift of a proper six-piece.
After making noise with early singles like “Blue & Gold” and “I Was Just A Boy”, Madra Salach followed up with the 2026 EP It’s a Hell of an Age, a snapshot of where they’re at right now: tradition in the bones, but never museum-like. Expect tunes built for a room that wants to sing along, stomp a little, and feel how alive this music still is when it’s treated as a living, urban thing.
