Info

On 26 September 2026 at Mandela Hall in Belfast, The Scratch bring their acoustic drive. Formed in Dublin by former members of metal outfit Red Enemy, the quartet flips hardcore energy into a raw, percussive folk-rock. Rapid acoustic guitars, crisp percussion and group vocals power songs that nod to Irish tradition while leaning on punk tension. After early DIY videos put them on the Irish indie map, they toured clubs across Ireland and the UK, sharpening a set that moves between ballad forms and riff-led bursts. Releases include the EP Old Songs (2018), The Whole Buzz (2019) and the albums Couldn't Give A Rats (2020) and Mind Yourself (2023), where collective vocals and dynamic shifts push their hybrid sound further.

DUG adds a modern folk shaped by travel between America, Scotland and Ireland. The duo of Conor (Lorkin) O’Reilly and Jonny Pickett, formed in 2023, leans on banjo, resonator guitar and close-up storytelling that balances melancholy, dry humour and everyday detail. With songs like Big Sundown and Jubilee and a signing to Claddagh Records, they outline an organic sound built on chemistry and clear songwriting.
