Info
On October 7, 2027, Jean-Michel Jarre lands at the Gashouder in Amsterdam with 'OXYGENE & BEYOND', an evening centered on fifty years of Oxygène. Jarre, a key figure in French electronic music since the 1970s, brings here his characteristic world of long, instrumental movements: layered synths, repetitive motifs and that floating, cinematic atmosphere that makes Oxygène so recognizable.
Expect no nostalgic replay, but a set that continues the thread of what followed: the tighter sequences of Équinoxe and Les Chants Magnétiques, the experimental drift with voices and samples, and the more rhythmic, danceable structures from later periods. Jarre is also known for shows in which image and sound form a single entity, with room for light, projection and an immersive approach. In the Gashouder, that takes on a special scale: a concert that revolves as much around sound architecture as around melody.
