Info
On 10 April 2027, V.O.F. De Kunst will perform at Metropool in Almelo, with a live set that brings their signature Nederpop vibe back to the fore. The band broke through in the early 1980s from Tilburg with Dutch-language pop songs that thrived on simple, instantly sing-along melodies and a storytelling twist. Central to the act remains the recognizable voice of Nol Havens, who carries the repertoire with that light, cabaret-like edge.
So don’t expect an anonymous hit parade, but songs that have something to say: pop with chanson-tinged hues, just enough theatre in the delivery, and refrains that stick with you after a single listen. Of course the spirit of “Suzanne” from 1983 lingers in the hall, the single that also circulated internationally under the name The Art Company. In Almelo, that early phase comes together with later work, in a show that demonstrates how effortlessly V.O.F. De Kunst shifts between radio pop and more thematic, stage-oriented numbers.
