Info
On March 26, 2027, Denez Prigent makes a stop at La Loco in Quimperlé, with Toenn-Vor, a project focused on Breton maritime songs. A child of Haut-Léon and a bearer of gwerzioù, he treats this repertoire of laments and ballads as a living material: stories that carry the memory of the sea, but also broader themes, ranging from love and exile to freedom and mourning.
On stage, his voice leads the performance, alternately bare and taut, then carried by musicians who widen the frame. Tradition remains the axis, but the sound allows for more contemporary textures, with electronic touches that move the boundaries without erasing them. Between Breton and French, Denez Prigent seeks balance: to keep the ancient breath while projecting it into contemporary listening.
