On February 16, 2027, Pain of Truth lands at Project House in Leeds with the kind of hardcore that’s built for the front rows. Coming out of Long Island’s NY scene, the band pushes a sound right at the junction of tough-guy hardcore, beatdown weight, and groove-driven metalcore, with sharp, hip-hop-leaning phrasing that cuts through the churn. Since forming in 2020 around vocalist Michael Smith, they’ve kept things compact and physical: tight riffs, heavy tempos, and those mosh parts that hit like a switch being flipped. After early releases and a split with Age of Apocalypse, their first album Not Through Blood (2023) locked in that frontal, no-frills writing. Expect a set that moves fast, stays dense, and leaves plenty of space for the pit to do the talking.
